Israel In The Land Of Fire!
Biblical and historical records provide a fascinating story of the first two decades of the Assyrian exile of the House of Israel, 721-701 B.C.(Please advise if you want the DVD formatted for European PAL equipment or USA NTSC format, or we will choose based upon your address)
We read in 2 Kings 17:6, "In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away into Assyria, and placed them in Halah and in Habor by the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes." This was one of the important events of Old Testament history.
The Assyrian invasion occurred in 721 B.C., but until now little has been known about the life of the captives, the location of their exile or their later destiny. Yet, prophecy told us that the veil would be lifted (Isa. 25:7) and with the modern-day translation of ancient Assyrian cunieform tablets much new fascinating and important information has been uncovered about the events of that era.
God prophesied that the House of Israel would go into the "fire of His wrath" (Isa. 9:19; Psa. 89:46) for their multiple transgressions. History has now shown that this was fulfilled to the letter, and not just in an allegorical way. Israel was actually sent to a place known in Semitic as "the land of fire," which has an amazing connection with early European tribes.
This story is interwoven with the story of Hezekiah, King of Judah, his "international" rebellion against Assyria, and his enlistment of support from the Israelite captives who were located in exile in the Assyrian cities and within the Assyrian army itself. Was he successful? Historians have now pieced together the answer, and in the process have uncovered a long-forgotten account of events only hinted at in the pages of Scripture.
